What is acontoskat (on-account tax)?

In short

Acontoskat is companies' prepayment of the year's corporate tax in two ordinary instalments — 20 March and 20 November — based on previous years' tax.

In practice

If you expect a much larger or smaller profit, the instalments can be adjusted, and voluntary payments avoid the surcharge on outstanding tax.
